The Story Behind Our Winemaking Endeavor:
As many of you know, we have always believed passionately that quality cuisine and fine wine are meant to be paired together. For the past 25+ years, at Second Street, an American Bistro and at a Catered Affair, our premier catering company we put that belief into everything we do.

You probably won’t find it hard to believe then that we’ve parlayed our love of wine into a new joint venture to produce our very own artisan wine. Together with our long time friends and respected Napa winemakers Mike and Tracy Drash of Tallulah Wines, we bring you Aratas Petite Sirah.

Aratas Wine represents the best of old world tradition and new world innovation. The name Aratas pays tribute to our family’s deeply rooted Hungarian heritage.

We are also VERY proud to say that our first launch into the wine market took a Gold Medal for Petite Sirah at the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, which is America's largest wine competition!

Our partners, Mike and Tracy Drash, have been crafting wines in Napa Valley for over 17 years for such names as DeLoach, J Wine, Far Niente, and Luna before creating their own winery, lovingly named for their daughter Tallulah. Critics have raved about their wines calling them “…polished, refined, and sophisticated with authoritative flavors and abundant finesse and elegance.”

Aratas wine is the result of several smaller batches created over the years and perfected for our own personal consumption. The fruits of this larger scale labor of love were aged in Hungarian Oak barrels for over 20 months, then bottled and laid to rest. Aratas Petite Sirah was officially ready for sale in December 2010.

Second Street, an American Bistro offers complementary corkage service for anyone that brings a bottle of Aratas in for dinner and has several entrees that pair perfectly with the highly rated Petite Sirah.
